Some Nigerians have dragged former Rivers State governor Nyesom Wike over the improperly buttoned suit he wore as he lead G5 governors meet President Bola Ahmed Tinubu at Aso Rock in Abuja.
Wike alongside one serving governor and three former governors within the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) who are known as G5 or Integrity group met the president today, June 8, 2023.
Those in the group are Governor Seyi Makinde (Oyo) as well as former Govenors Nyesom Wike (Rivers), Samuel Ortom (Benue), Okezie Ikpeazu (Abia), and Ifeanyi Ugwuanyi (Enugu).
The current governor of Enugu State, Peter Mbah was also present.
The G5 made up of aggrieved politicians within the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) kicked against the emergence of PDP presidential candidate, Atiku Abubakar in the last elections and backed the return of power to Southern Nigeria.
In a group picture released after the meeting, Wike caught the attention of many as the button of the suit he wore was improperly done.
They said that the former governor isn’t finding it easy in his quest to get an appointment in Tinubu’s cabinet that’s why he might have mistakenly improperly buttoned his suit.
However, some others defended him, saying Wike finds nothing bad in that and it’s nothing but a style of his.
