There’s a battle going on between Yolanda the designer of the dress that Nana Akua Addo wore for AMVCA.
Nana Akua Addo and her team began designing the 3D costume in May 2023 before reaching out to the Nigerian designer, Ezinne Olivia about bringing it to life but she had no idea what a 3D costume was.
Nana Akua Addo moved on to contact a 3D digital artist in Lagos to sketch a 3D drawing for her to be able to print the 3D drawing as a 3D material.
To bring the 3D design drawing to life, Nana Akua Addo personally contacted 3D material manufacturers in the U.S. and Canada, but due to delays, she had to use different manufacturers in China.
After Nana Akua Addo came to an agreement with the Chinese manufacturers, she contacted her designer, Yoli Koomson, who was in China at the time, to supervise the printing of the 3D materials for her.
Nana Akua Addo paid $2,860 for the 3D pieces that were printed in China and shipped to Ghana by her designer, Yoli Koomson.
Upon arrival, Nana Akua Addo realised she would need a mesh underwear to wear beneath the 3D material, but because she wasn’t going to wear the costume in Ghana, she brought in Ezinne Olivia to make her a mesh underwear following Nana’s directives.
After completing the mesh underwear, Ezinne Olivia sent the mesh underwear from Nigeria to Nana Akua Addo in Ghana for fitting.
Yoli Koomson and her team then fixed the 3D material pieces on Nana, but because of its delicate nature, they had to unfix it and fix it again on the day of the AMVCAs in Lagos with Ezinne Olivia as an assistant stylist.
Nana Akua Addo and Yoli Koomson stayed in contact with Ezinne Olivia until they arrived in Lagos.
Due to Yoli Koomson’s flight delays, Nana Akua Addo asked Ezinne Olivia and her assistants to go ahead and fix the dress on her body following her Nana’s directives before Yoli arrived in Lagos.
After AMVCA ,
Nana has been said to refuse to tag the designer who happens to be Ezinne Olivia, rather she tagged her ghanian team.
Recall, Ezinne went to Lagos from Enugu State, styled the dress on nana for 400k and rumour has it that she hasn’t even been paid completely.
Nana wore the dress to AMVCA and initially tagged Ezinne, but Ezinne wanted to be tagged solely, then Nana removed her and left just the rest of the team tagged.
Ezinne Olivia went ahead to drag Nana on her Facebook page, although she has been advised by Nana’s team to take her posts down
Ezinne had posted that she needed 4 creative designers on her Facebook page six days ago. The question is was the 400 thousand naira for just her or for her and the team?
