Mixed reactions have trailed the appointment of a senior special adviser on the government house pool made by Osun state governor, Ademola Adeleke.
The governor in a letter of appointment dated August 7, 2023, and signed by Secretary to the State Government, Teslim Igbalaye, confirmed Alhaji Oyetunji Rasak Abefe as Senior Special Adviser on Government House Pool.
The letter which was sighted on Thursday, August 17, 2023, by our correspondent noted that the appointment takes effect from August 1, 2023.
The latter titled APPOINTMENT AS SENIOR SPECIAL ASSISTANT TO THE GOVERNOR ON GOVERNMENT HOUSE POOL, reads; “I am pleased to inform you that the Governor of Osun State, His Excellency, Senator Ademola Jackson Nurudeen Adeleke has approved your appointment as Senior Special Assistant to the Governor on Government House Pool with effect from 1 August 2023.
“While congratulating you on this well-deserved appointment, the State Government counts much on you that this elevation would enhance your performance with a view to moving Osun State to greater heights.
“Please accept my hearty congratulations and best wishes on your new appointment.
The appointment has generated mixed reactions from Nigerians, especially social media users. Many questioned the importance of the appointment to an average resident of the state and also asked that how many swimming pools are in the government house that requires the need of a special adviser.
While others defended the governor saying the appointment has nothing to do with swimming but resources like vehicles and others in the government house.
