Founder of AIT Raymond Dokpesi dies after being electrocuted while using gym in Abuja

The founder of DAAR Communications plc, has died after being electrocuted while using the gym in Abuja.

The former Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) chieftain died at a hospital in Abuja on Monday, May 29, 2023.

According to the unnamed family source, Dokpesi had been battling health issues since suffering a stroke shortly after the conclusion of the recent Ramadan fast.

Despite his ongoing health management, tragedy struck during one of his regular gym sessions.

The source revealed that an electrical accident occurred while Dokpesi was using a gym equipment, resulting in a stroke that eventually claimed his life.

The Dokpesi family is expected to release an official statement regarding this devastating loss soon.

Dokpesi established African Independent Television (AIT) and Raypower FM, leaving an indelible mark on Nigeria’s media landscape.

Additionally, he served as the Deputy Director-General of Technical and Systems for Atiku Abubakar’s Presidential Campaign Council.
