40 Years Old Foster Mom Arrested As 5Yr Old Boy Dies After Being Left In Hot Car For 7 hours

A 5-year-old boy died after spending several hours in a hot car Wednesday. Omaha police said his foster mom is responsible. They arrested 40-year-old Juanita Pinon for child abuse by neglect.

A witness said Pinon inside was at a beauty salon at 93rd and Binney when she ran went outside and found 5-year-year Dionicio Perez unresponsive. 

The witness performed CPR, but Perez didn’t survive.

The boy was found unresponsive outside of a beauty salon where his foster mother works shortly after 5 p.m. Wednesday, July 10, according to Omaha police.

The 5-year-old was taken to a hospital where he was declared dead, police said.

His foster mother, Juanita Pinon, of Omaha, was arrested and charged with child abuse by neglect, resulting in de@th, police announced Thursday, July 11.

Employees at the salon said Pinon has an office in the back but did not know what her business was there.

“The suspect did not provide a statement to declare whether it was an accident or intentional,” police spokesperson Chris Gordon told ABC News.
