Former Rivers State Governor, Nyesom Wike is allegedly angry for not being given any ministerial position.
Mr Wike, although a PDP member, had concluded he would not support the party’s presidential candidate, Atiku Abubakar, in the presidential elections. He was among the 12 PDP presidential aspirants defeated by Atiku at the party’s presidential primary election in May last year.
The G5, which Mr Wike and the other governors formed were demanding the resignation of the PDP National Chairman, Iyorchia Ayu, to pave the way for a southerner to lead the PDP in order to achieve a “regional balance”.
The G5 also believed that it is the turn of the south to produce a president at the expiration of the tenure of President Muhammadu Buhari, who is from the north.
Mr Wike, after thinking he may have sealed a deal with the presidential candidate of the All Progressives Congress (APC), Bola Tinubu, said that it was impossible for him and the G5 to negotiate peace with Atiku.
